Simple Travel Packing Tips for Solo Female Travellers
The trend of travelling solo has become extremely popular in recent times. But when it comes to packing, women really struggle to figure out how they can pack their bag to comply with the weight restrictions, especially at airports.
Whether you are ready to trek through Mongolia or move to explore the arctic conditions of southern New Zealand in winter, here are a few travel packing tips to fulfil your dreams of going solo – the newest travel trend:
1. Pick up layers and convertible clothes
Uncomfortable clothes are a big no for travel. So, you must definitely pack all your comfortable clothes for long travel days and long flights. Soft cotton t-shirts, skirts, and pants are ideal to fit in your bag. Furthermore, you should pick up clothes that can layer easily. This includes wraps and cardigans that you can wear over and over again on different days. You don’t need to pack new and different clothes for every single day. A good pair of thick black leggings is extremely essential and purposeful.
2. Carry a Backpack along with a small tote
This is one of the best travel hacks. Airport staff generally does not ask you to weigh a daypack-sized backpack. You can easily take it as a carry-on. A daypack sized backpack is less obvious and obtrusive when compared with a rolling suitcase and therefore goes unnoticed. Furthermore, you can roll a small canvas tote in your backpack and take it out when you need to fit in snacks and other small items once you’ve entered the plane. You can store your backpack in the overhead bin with all your essentials in the small tote on your lap.
3. Plastic Bags
Remember to keep lots of plastic bags here and there in your packing. Refrain from putting all of them at one place and then not finding them when you need them. Plastic bags can be used to put toiletries. This way chances of it leaking and spoiling your clothes reduces. Store smaller items in ziplock bags since that makes it easier for you to find what you need. If you buy a bottle of wine or any other liquid, you must always wrap it in two to three bags to ensure that there are no chances of a leak.
Moreover, avoid carrying heavy and bulky toiletries like shampoo and conditioner. Just carry the travel size and buy when you reach your destination. Shopping locally from a grocery store is, in fact, an interesting trick to keep women safe on their trip.
4. Keep a change of clothes in your carry-on
Your luggage can get lost and your flight can get delayed. In such situations, it is important that you have a set of clothes in your carry-on. Not wearing a clean t-shirt, especially if you have a 24-hour long journey can be really bothersome. This outfit does not have to be elaborate. It just needs to comfortable clothes like a cotton dress, underwear and a pair of socks, depending on the weather of the place you are in.
